Realtek PCIe GBE family controller no longer working after Win10 version 2004 update

TC1950

My motherboard (Asus P6T) has an onboard Realtek PCIe GBE NIC that has been always working throughout all

different windows 10 versions, including ver. 1909.

Yesterday my machine was updated to version 2004. As a result, the Realtek adapter did not work any longer and the system

could not connect to LAN. On running the Windows network troubleshooter I was notified that there were problems with

the driver of the Network adapter. The error detail was: "Windows couldn't automatically bind the IP protocol stack to the network adapter".

The troubleshooter cannot fix the problem.

I tried to reinstall the older driver, but this did not solve the problem.

Luckily I had made a full Acronis backup of the system just before starting the update and I could restore the system to version 1909.

Any suggestion?
