SVCHOST.EXE PROTECTED FOLDER ACCESS BLOCKED

Lately I've been getting constant notifications of Svchost.exe trying to access a protected folder of mine, I would like further explanation into why Svchost.exe is running in the background and why Window Security is blocking it. Is it some sort of Virus or threat? My last question is why are for than 40 of Svchost.exe running in the background when I checked my Task manager.
