Copy Windows address book to iPOD

Previously I copied my windows address book successfully on to Contacts on
iPOD.
I have since added some address etc into address book and attempted to sync
address book with iPOd. The problem is that all existing contacts have been
erased from iPOD and replaced with contacts in address book beginning with
the letter 'A'. I have tried all I know with no succes. Can anybody please
help with this bizarre problem? Thanks in anticipation.

This doesn't appear to be a W98 problem--perhaps you would have better luck
using Google to find info on the IPod and the transfer of addresses.
