Laptop is (apparently) infected; need tech support.....

Hi there,


My laptop is apparently infected with a virus and has become compromised; I've been receiving a message for several minutes asking me to call as certain number for MIcrosoft tech support which I feel is suspicious and inoperable. Any suggestions on how to rectify this would be much appreciated.
