I cannot copy ANYTHING, nor create a single folder on my own external hard drive

Ok, ignore everything I wrote before. Apparently my hard drive became write protected.

It's not full.
I run enough antiviruses (Avast and Malwarebytes among them) to not be awfully worried about having gotten a virus on it.

Please help me remove the blasted write protect.

I tried the CMD option with "attributes disc clear readonly" and it DID NOT WORK.
I tried editing the registry. IT DID NOT WORK.

Now what.

Help?
