Hello,
I recently got a new Iphone 11, before going to the apple store I backed up my Iphone 7plus to iTunes (it's important to note that this version of iTunes was downloaded from the Microsoft store, not apple). I made sure that my computer, iTunes, and my 7plus were all up to date with their software before going. I traded in my Iphone 7plus and was assured that since I had the local backup at home it wouldn't be an issue. This was an incorrect statement by the apple personnel. iTunes can see the new phone and it stays connected to charge, however as soon as I try to restore from the backup iTunes gives me an error saying that "iTunes could not restore the iphone because the iphone disconnected." I called apple tech support and we spent a few hours trying everything from new cords to reinstalling iTunes (both from the microsoft store and from apple) but nothing worked. The iphone is able to be set up without the restore so it's nothing on the hardware or software end of the phone. The problem is that the information on that backup is essential and the old phone is completely gone. The apple tech told me that the only other thing that it could be was on the software side of iTunes from the microsoft store. Please help.
