I need to install win7 pro 64bit on a separate partition (gpt) for a legacy program for work. I own a full licenced copy DVD and i also downloaded an ISO copy from MS.
I have tried to clean install win 7 from a bootable USB and an external DVD. Both times, the installation program freezes at the windows logo, and i need too reboot. Currently, i have win10 pro 64bit as my default OS with another partition booting win 10 pro 64bit for work. I have secureboot off.
My computer has two HD. Primary one has 5 partitions (default OS with recovery partitions) and my second drive have 4 partitions (one with the second bootable win 10 and another i want win 7 installed on (using another licenced win 10) - the others are data).
is it the gpt partition preventing win 7 installation to start properly? I cant convert to MBR as i have too many partitions.
Can it be something else in my BIOS setting? I have a Dell and there’s limited settings that i can access but i i have tried booting with various options off but nothing seems to help.
