Hi,
I have a problem for which I have not been able to find a coherent modern solution. There is an old solution, but I am hoping modern tools will have made this easier. Old solution: How to install OS on Toshiba Portege M200
I have a Toshiba Portege M200. This system will NOT boot from USB (a known downside to the system), and the associated USB CD-ROM has a known bug that makes installing an OS from it very difficult. I've experienced shutdowns, errors, etc. from the USB CD-ROM while trying to install.
I am working on a Windows 10 system. I have removed the HDD from the Toshiba, and can fully access it through a USB adapter.
I have Windows XP Tablet Edition on CD.
Questions:
1) Can the Windows XP Tablet Edition be installed directly on the HDD? If so, please instruct me, or point me in a direction.
2) Can the Windows XP Tablet CD be copied onto a partition on the HDD for installation?
3) Is there another route that I might be able to use?
Thanks very much,
Nan0guy
