Hello,
Laptop Specs/Model: HP Pavillion 13-u105ne, Intel i5 7200u, 802.11bgn WiFi Network Adapter
My laptop had a problem with my High School's new WiFi as they recently changed their WiFi band to exclusive 5ghz support, naturally, my 4 year old laptop cannot support it as I have a 802.11 bgn WiFi adapter. I gave it to my IT department and they tried installing the portable WiFi extender, 5 hours later, they gave back my laptop and suddenly my WiFi Adapter had an error message reading 'Windows is still setting up the class configuration for this device (Code 56)'. I did not have this problem before I gave it to the IT department and they advised me to format my laptop or reinstall Windows 10. According to previous forums, my problem may be due to VPN, but I do not have VPNs on my laptop
Possible Problem(s):
IT department installed netrtwlane.inf drivers, they may be uncompatible
Things I've Tried:
- Scannow
- RestoreHealth (Nothing comes up)
- Network Reset (Failed)
- System Restore Point from point that foreign Driver was installed (Failed, twice)
- Flushed DNS
Things suggested, but I can't do at the moment:
- Reset/format laptop (Don't have WiFi for installation of Windows)
- Reinstall Windows 10 (Same as above, don't have WiFi to download installation files)
- Remove driver physically, then reinstall (Don't have WiFi for installation of Driver Updates)
- Update Windows 10 (I am on Windows 1904, need to update to Windows 2004 and I can't download it)
- Check for VPN (Previously had VPN, deleted quite a time prior to the problem ago)
I hope somebody responds to this ASAP, thanks for any help asked, I can give more information on behest of the responder
Sincerest Thanks
