Hello, so i just got a new laptop and it has been absolutely wonderful until today. I was downloading all my normal security software and extensions I use on Firefox and Brave browser. Normally I like to get a lot of freeware but everything I use is tried and true. So I am getting all of my downloads completed and getting everything situated and all of a sudden my mouse (pointer) started to look like a small pixelated right-side up stick. Kind of like it was made of a bunch of pixels and it was thin from side to side and maybe twice as tall as the pointer should be. I was still able to click on things and get some stuff done though. Then from time to time it started to look more boxy and the pixels were more condensed and it looked almost like a black box but it wouldn't stay looking like that for long. Well eventually I went to do a restart on my computer and once I did and got back in I was prompted that my computer wasn't able to sign in correctly and if i log out and sign in it "normally" takes care of the problem. By the way I'm running Win 10. After I logged out and logged back in I had the same issue. The first thing I noticed was that my Homepage was the default picture and not my photo choice, and about half of my desktop icons were missing yet the install files were still on the computer in their original download folders. Even my video downloads were all still in their respective folders just not on my desktop. Some programs I had to reinstall and some were working just fine. I made all the shortcuts again and installed the software again and everything was back to normal. After doing so I went and did a system restart and the same exact thing happened again. I am wondering what the community would suggest I do in this kind of situation. I am running a VPN, and a firewall...I may have actually been running more than one firewall and also a program called PeerBlock which is an IP blocker but I'm wondering if so much encryption started to interfere with one another's programs and caused a bug. I just don't want to have to go through reinstalling everything if anyone has any suggestions on how I can avoid having the same issue spur up again. I truly appreciate the time! Thanks so much!
