HP Envy Laptop Fingerprint Reader Not Working After Windows 10 Reinstall That Has Windows Hello

After a Windows user file corruption that occurred following a Windows 10 update in October, I did a reset and then update to Windows 10. (This model was originally Windows 8.)

Since then, my HP Envy fingerprint reader stopped working despite many attempts via Windows Hello options to try and set it up (I don't recall ever seeing "Hello" on here previously). So I uninstalled the bio reader and reinstalled new driver and software from the HP website. Well, Windows Hello apparently doesn't recognize it. The setup window says "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint." What the heck do I do now? I just want to be able to sign it with my fingerprint again!

Thank you!

P.S. My fingerprint scanner does flash and "read" my finger at start up, but Hello doesn't connect to it and I can't find a way to make it do so OR a replacement for Hello.
