Hi,
I'm setting up my new laptop which has Windows 10 and was trying to find seemingly hidden folders e.g. C:\Users\XXXX\AppData. In File Explorer I navigated to This PC>Windows (C>Users and thought I'd try and find a way of viewing hidden folders by right clicking User properties and ticking the Attributes boxes for Read-only and Hidden. When I clicked Apply a loading bar appeared and it did 'something'.
After this I was unable to see anything in the User folder (Except a Public folder) and all other folders in Files Explorer seemed empty. Now software such as MS Office and MS Photos etc begin to open but can't seem to open any files. I've worked out how to make Hidden Files visible now with File Explorer>View and clicking Hidden Items so it looks like everything is still there BUT many icons, files and folders are now greyed out. How can I remedy this? Thanks
