Hi, i have a laptop with three usb ports, one does not work, and it has not for a while. So i baught a cheap little sebrant(i think thats the brand, not sure) external usb hub(unpowered) for some new external hdd/ssd cases that are currently on their way.

The question is, if i plug the two external hdd/ssd cases(witha drive in them) and my external keyboard in at the same time, could it burn out the usb port the hub is connected to? If so, how could i stop it from happening, the one usb port on the other side of my laptop that works is used for my mouse, and the other working one is for the external usb hub. I heard some stories about that happening, but those articals were when usb hubs first came out i think, and they were really flawed back then. We used to use one on our xbox one s, but that one broke after five years, and the usb port on the xbox one is still functioning properly. Thanks
