Hello!
Hoping somebody will be able to help. I'm trying to sort out an old laptop to give to a friend as they need to do part of their work from home. I reset the laptop, which said it included reinstalling Windows 8. Though the same problem still persists.
Windows can't be activated. The code is legit, but it's an old laptop so maybe there is an issue of the date/an error having occurred. The error message is: 0x8007232b with a message the DNS does not exist. I've tried network and activation troubleshooting but none of these seem to connect or work. I've tried all the work arounds through the run/command prompt. Entered in the codes that way. I even got a "this has been successfully installed" message when I put the code in this way, but when I check the activation setting, it still says it's can't be activated. Same issue with the DNS. Tried downloading troubleshoot/network apps but none worked. Tried entering in with the slui x3 option etc, though none worked either.
If anybody has had any similar experience or knows a work around, that would be brilliant. The laptop works okay, but I'm assuming not having the windows OS activated and working correctly will cause some issues.
Is it possible to just buy another windows 8 code? Is this too outdated and I need to buy windows 10? Is it possible to upgrade?
Thanks for your help!
