Game won’t launch from DVD Rom

Hi all,

I play Sims 2 on an old PC which runs Windows Vista. It has no internet connection and hasn’t since I bought it some 2 years ago. The game now won’t initialise beyond the launch menu, or through run.exe. Can anyone help with any suggestions for how I can get it running again? I’m a computer novice but keen to get it functional again!
