Hi Team,

I desperately come to you to help me diagnose a critical error (BSOD) that is driving me crazy about a new computer I bought for Gaiming that worked perfectly until a few days and has intermittent behavior. I'm a former Microsoft employee trained as a Senior Consultant and with all Systems Engineers Certification so I have experience in troubleshooting. However, this error cannot be identified. I read a lot from this site regarding this error. I run the verifier app selecting all the drivers that aren't certified by MSFT and it crash appears boot up. I only have a Memory.DMP so I'm attaching the link here.

My system is composed by:

  • Mobo: Asus CrossHero VIII Wifi with the lastet FW of January 14th 2021
  • Processor: AMD 5900x
  • Memory> 32GB (4x8) HyperX 3600/4000 however I am using the standard DOCH with the 3600/1800FLCK
  • I use to overcooking a little bit with the Precision Boost Overdrive from AMD (with very basic settings, nothing extreme and no memory OC), however after starting this suddenly hangs or BSOD I disabled all kind of Overclock option, from CPU and also the GPU. So there is nothing in the UEFI rather than Memory DOCH settings
  • The GPU is an Asus TUF RTX 3080 OC version
  • The PSU is a new EVGA 850
  • I have a lot of fans a Noctua for the CPU and Case and always monitoring temps with HWInfo
  • I ran several test with MEMTest 83.. and everything was always perfect.
  • #2NVME drives: 1) Seagate 1TB Firescuda 520 Gen4 and a 2) WD Black SN750 2TB. All with the latest firmware

As you can see this is a new build that I use only for gaming and it perform very well. When I bought this PC I play sometime with OC but most games crashes sometimes. So I decided to do a clean install and keep the minor quantity of drivers, I mean the Chipset from AMD, all Microsoft Drivers preferred, and the Nvidia last version of drivers

Due to the quarantine that is strong in my country, I rent a Vacation House to change "air" and stay in summer. When I move the PC to this new House I only regret that the internet connection is extremely low compared to my house but I don't think it should related to the problem. The other thing is that in my home I use a direct Ethernet GB connection to an Asus AX88U, so even having a Wifi 6 in this PC I don't use it. But here in this house I have to connect trough Wifi..

At first I notice some Hangs or freeze while gaming.. and some time the BSOD. I change the recovery option to not reboot.. I also changed the custom pagefile to Windows System Managed. And the error begins like this. If I run Cinebench or even 3DMARK TimeSpy or Port Royale (that stress the CPU and the GPU) it never crashed.

These are the errors:

Event 161 VOLMGR Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.

In the XML it shows \Device\HarddiskVolume2

And then

Event 41 Kernel Power The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

What is very very strange is that this error happens on afternoon.. I don't know why at night I can play for instance to Cyberpunk 2077 for many hours.. but at afternoon it crash almost immediately. It also happened with Forza Horizon 4 and Motorsport 7.

I started to suspect of voltage.. or maybe that some NVME I don't know, when moving to this new vacation house maybe some components moves..

An important thing, the BSOD is the WHEA error.

Finally when I come to this forum I read about the verify.exe file. I run for al the driver not signed by MSFT and when I reboot it crashed inmediatly so I had to enter in Safe Mode and Disable it. I guess I get the MEMORY.DMP or maybe from the last BSOD.

I don't know if the verify app could make some output file to understand what drivers fails.. maybe you can guide me

I really appreciate your help. It drives me crazy, most because this a new build, with good components.. (I also have as spare a Gigabyte PSU but with 750W, a Rayzen 3700x and also two motherboards B550 and other X570 ASUS eGaiminig.. and also 32GB Adata 4x8, but I don't think this is related to hardware.. my feeling is that issue is related to some drivers...

In this link I-m attaching the Memory Dump in RAR format, the System Info and the Event Log output

I really appreciate any time of advise. I hope the memory dump let us know what drivers is causing is. I wonder if the Memory Dump is the Verifier program or what would be the output.

Thanks Martin
