whenever i plug my headset into my pc, windows 10/my pc doesn't detect it as a device anywhere. i've already tried showing disabled devices in sound settings (headphones don't show up), uninstalling and reinstalling audio driver (realtek high definition), rolling back the audio driver, and still doesn't work.
my headset has a 3.5mm plug
when i plug my headset into the headphones jack, sound does come through the headset but the microphone doesn't work. it also still doesn't display the headphones in device manager or settings/anywhere, it just shows up as "Speakers" the same as when the headset is unplugged.
i also plugged my headset into the headphones/microphone jack (the symbol showed microphone+headphones) the headset doesn't work at all, and sound just plays from my pc speakers and microphone still doesn't work
again it doesn't display it as a device
can someone tell me how to fix this? do i need a y cable or something??
