Merging two columns with data validation

I am not entirely sure how to word this, so bare with me, but I have two columns in a spreadsheet that have data validation on it, one is a category and one is a GL Account number that is supposed to correspond to whatever category is chosen.


Is there a way to make the GL Account number correspond with its correct category? So when I select a category, the proper GL Account number will automatically populate?
