Installing Windows 10

Hello I currently have Windows Vista on my desk top computer I purchased a Canon TR8620 printer yesterday. I was trying to install it and found out it wasn't compatible. I went ahead and purchased Windows 10. I was able to put it on a thumb drive but for some reason i'm having trouble installing it on my computer. could you please help me install Windows 10 from a thumb drive on a machine running Windows Vista. They only give me 24 hours until it expires .
