Windows Vista...

So I dug my old gaming computer out of storage and I am trying to get it working. when I booted it up, it was showing that I am using a non-genuine copy of windows 7, but looking at the tag on the back of my computer I should have windows vista. is there a way to upgrade with my old product key to a newer version, since the old version is no longer supported?
