Happy New Year everyone!!
My question: I cannot use Adobe 6.01 on that old small computer. It keeps
coming up with an Illegal Operation pop up. I do have Adobe 3.02 on it
because I got that off my Office 97 disk.
I tried to get the Adobe Reader from the Adobe site but all they have for
Windows 98SE is the Adobe 6.01. Nothing in between the 3.02 and 6.01.
I went up to the www.oldversions.com and tried to download 5.05 from there
but it kept freezing up. When I did the 3 finger solute, it told me that
www.oldversions.com was not responding.
I was going too try to get the download from www.oldversion.com to my
desktop that has the DSL and burn it to a disk but I think it downloads
automatically to the machine itself. That plan would not work
I am using, at this time, dial up on that old computer. I kept trying to get
the Adobe 5.05 and it kept freezing up. I do a restart every time after I
try because this other computer has only 64 mg of RAM.
I do not feel at this time that I do not want to go through the expense of
an Ethernet Card and a wireless connection for it. That machine is old, how
old, I do not know. It is what I call a "thrown together machine". Hardware
age, unknown.
Question: How can I get the 5.05 version for that machine?
Another question: Do I need it or will the 3.02 be good enough?
