I recently had my C drive hard drive fail with about 1.4 T of information and programs installed. Following an installation of a replacement drive and a Windows 10 reinstall, I fortunately had a fairly recent back up on an external drive. In the reinstallation of Windows 10 and the restore a new User name on the C Drive was created that did not match my User name on the my old C drive. I have eventually reestablished the original name on my new C drive but I find I don't have permission to open most of the files now recovered.
Should I just start over with a new re-install/restore or is there an easy way to get all files under the same user name and be accessible?
