I'm not sure whether this is a settings or performance query so apologies if it is in the wrong place.
I have a HP Envy13 laptop and don't generally use its onboard camera to make videos so I'm a complete novice in this area. However, I have recently participated in two orchestral 'lockdown' videos where I had to video myself playing and then send it to the person compiling the whole performance. The first time, 9 months ago, was reasonably successful and the video a decent enough quality. However, since then I have found that the quality of the image is a bit foggy, both in Zoom meetings and in my most recent video recording - the difference between it and the first one is very noticeable. I have made sure the camera lens is clean to no effect. I see that there is a choice of settings for 'video quality' on the video camera screen and I don't know which is the most appropriate nor can I find anything in the laptop's own settings or online to explain them, viz:
720p 16.9 30fps
360p 16.9 30fps
480p 4.3 30fps
240p 4.3 30fps
288p 11.9 30fps
144p 11.9 30fps
I've no idea which is the best to use and I hadn't changed them until just recently (a long time after the blurriness started) to see if it made a difference. Unfortunately I then forgot what the original setting had been (yes, I know...).
I'd be very grateful for both advice about these settings and, more importantly, how I can get a clearer image back on my screen.
Thanks.
