WINDOWS UPDATES ERROR # 80072EFE

When trying to update Windows I keep receiving Error # 80072EFE. Have not been able to do updates in over a month. I am running Windows 8, would like to install Window 8.1 but need to do updates first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
