Hi, so I normally use an external keyboard when working with my laptop (Gigabyte Aero 15 Intel Core i7-7700HQ CPU @2.80GHz), however recently I have started to use the keyboard on the laptop itself again, and have realised several keys don't work (just the left column of keys (except for Ctrl)).
I'm positive I have not spilt anything on the laptop keyboard (i have a silicone cover on it all the time).
Googling has revealed ppl have had similar problem before, but no effective solution.
Version and OS build number of Windows 10 currently installed (winver)?
I realised this problem existed whilst on Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.1379), and persists even after update Version 20H2 (OS build 19042.804)
Have you tried using a different keyboard and check if you will still encounter the same issue?
- Yes. So this problem only exists on the laptop keyboard (Gigabyte Aero 15).
Using any other external keyboard this problem doesn't exist.
Device Manager?
I have looked into device manager, and note that under Keyboards there are 4 subsections
-> HID Keyboard Device
-> HID Keyboard Device
-> HID Keyboard Device
-> Standard PS/2 Keyboard
In all their respective properties, it says this device is working properly.
Checking updates for drivers - all say the best drivers for your device are already installed. Searching for updated drivers on Windows Update doesn't yield anything either. The option to rollback driver is greyed out. Do i uninstall?
Does the issue exists while in safe mode?
- Yes
