My device is an Iomega USB Zip 250 with a separate power supply. I have several discs that have a lot of data that I’d like to get at, but can’t access.
It was working on an old XP laptop from many years ago but will not work on a Windows 8.1 nor a 10 laptop.
I’ve since gotten a parallel to USB adapter cable to make the connection.
The laptops both display a tone when the USB cable is inserted.
However, in the device manager, it does not appear as a drive but only as a USB device
Plugging in the device adds two new items to the list under “USB controllers”, which are: “No printer attached” and “USB printing support”.
The device properties indicated that they are working properly.
I see websites that claim to have drivers but I’m uncertain if these are correct or even safe.
Any suggestions on settings that I might use to get either of my laptops to be able to “see” the zip drive?
