So, I have an Inspiron 7306 2n1 (bought in November 2020) which came with Windows 10 installed however I needed to run Ubuntu and installed that. However have now stopped working on that project and want to revert to Windows 10 and two days ago I downloaded the latest Media creation tool and followed the process of deleting the old partitions, then going for a clean install of Windows 10. This gives me 3 partitions and I start the installation process on the largest. Everything goes well with Keyboard, language and currency all selectable and then it gets to the point where I need to connect to a network to finish the installation.
I can connect to my home network using the WPS function and see the word 'Connected - Secured' but when I press Next after seeing the message 'Checking the connection to Microsoft - This may take a while' for about 5 minutes the WiFi card disconnects and the screen reverts to the message 'Let's connect you to a network .......'. The Wifi Card is connected to the network and the network is fine as i can ping Microsoft.com from a device on the same network.
Having searched the internet this seems to be a common issue but I haven't been able to find a solution.
Is there a workaround?
Thanks.
