Hello.
I'm facing a problem with my windows setup for last couple days. The case is as follows:
Booting windows normally with no errors in seconds on my M2 drive. Everything was fine until I reach the login screen with time and background image. When I try to login - a key press or similar to show up the password box- It goes blurry and nothing happens. No matter what I've tried, I wasn't able to go past beyond that point.
Then I dug into searching for solutions online. After a while I've noticed that password box showed up! I put my password in and nothing happens. Goes back to blurry background image.
Some of the solutions that I've found was to clear user cache files in the depths of system32 folder. In order to do that, I've tried to boot in PE mode. I've held down the shift key, pressed restart. System booted normally. No recovery options or such. Just normal windows boot. The problem hasn't gone away either.
So I've decided to force it. During the boot sequence, I've plugged my power cable, hold down the power button, crossed fingers, held my feet up, jumped few times, pet my dog while I pressed down the buttons and so on.. No.. No matter how many consecutive times I've tried Windows still resists to boot in PE mode. Ergo, last option was to use installation media.
So I did. I've successfully booted the repair mode. Jumped into Command prompt and begin typing commands. This time the problem was the M2 drive which windows was installed on is write protected. I can see all the files but can not modify them. Tried diskpart it to remove the readonly attrib. Failed. So I went and build Hiren's boot media. Same problem. Read only. Mini-XP ? same..
After an hour of looking into the blurry screen without doing nothing, on the bottom left corner, the second account on the windows showed up. I clicked on it, typed the password and voila! I've gone past the login screen. However, my joy cut short. I'm now looking at the black screen with start bar. Nothing more. I've waited few hours patiently but nothing changed. System is not responding to anything.
At this point I've decided to give it another shot. Booted. Gave it a few hours. But this time, I've pressed shift+restart and there it was! The recovery menu. I've opened the command prompt - it didn't asked for my credentials?- I've went down the hole in the system32 folder, found the cache file and commanded it to delete. Nope. Write protected! System restore and other options are failed just the same.
Few key points before I finish the essay I've just wrote
I've tested every-single hardware on different devices. Each of them was fine.
Bios settings are OK. I've even tried to factory reset it.
Another M2 with different windows installation boots just fine.
So.. This is the problem I'm facing. Any suggestions are appreciated. For those who read this far: Thank you
Have a healthy day.
