My internal webcam in my HP laptop has stopped being recognized. Performing a scan does not make it come back up. It started a few days ago when I was trying to use my camera in a Teams meeting and could not get it to work. Checking for a windows update did not change anything. After uninstalling the driver I scanned for hardware changes but my internal camera was gone from the list.
After trying out the legacy and most up-to-date drivers from HPs website I contacted HP support.
They updated my BIOS firmware and we tried installing the universal camera driver again, but to no avail.
During this period I have restarted my computer several times. I am the administrator account for this computer and have had "Show Hidden Devices" checked the entire time. My internal webcam does not show up in Device Manager at all.
