product key activation of windows 8 N

when trying to put on my computer ,it all asks me an activation key.but the link of product key failed when searching a new key.why this problem?

windows 8 N was preinstalled on HP compputer. but looking on the back the original system was windows 7.The windows 8N had been installed after by someone before i got the computer.
