Hi,
I desperately need an answer. I tried to install a cumulative update for KB5001028 today. The installation process got to 100% before then giving me an error message of 0x8007000d. I ran the Windows Update troubleshooter, it said that it detected something but didn't fix it, I unfortunately can't remember what it said it had detected but I did have 'apply repairs automatically' option ticked. I googled the error code, and I have tried the solutions that I have found so far but nothing has worked. I have tried turning the services off and off via the command prompt, again to no avail as I still couldn't install the update. So I reset my C: drive and now, rather than running Windows 1909 as I was prior to the reset, I am now running Windows 1903. I have run the BITS troubleshooter, which says that 'troubleshooting couldn't identify the issue' but when you click on the 'view detailed information' option and expand the Detection Details, there's a message that says: 'Problem with the BITS service : The requested service has already been started. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182. System.Management.Automation.RemoteException' I have googled the help message and tried resolutions offered on this community in the hope that it would fix the issue so that I can update my PC but nothing seems to be working and I am now stuck with an older version of Windows than when I started. I don't really know what else to do and am worried that I now have a very expensive lump of metal if I can no longer update and keep my PC secure.
