I've tried just about everything under the sun and nothing has worked. This is a brand new PC with a clean installation of Windows, and my internet runs fine on my other devices.

I have this reoccurring issue. The troubleshooting error goes away when I turn on a setting, particularly the one found in Internet Properties > Connections > LAN settings > "Automatically detect settings", yet this setting is the one that I am told to switch off when I google the troubleshooting message, which is interesting.

  • ipconfig and netsh commands
  • changing the setting mentioned above
  • network reset
