So I have over the last week been helping a friend upgrade their windows 8 laptop to windows 10.
Before starting we backed up the user folder for safety, then during installation when the machine restarted it ended up in a boot loop. the only way out was to choose another installation type we had not be doing. So once installed we found it when starting up asks which version we wish to start with, both options are Windows 10, but if you select the bottom of the 2 options, the machine just loads a black screen then stops.
When in the account, we restored the user, contacts, programs folders etc but when we open mail, the saved e-mails (which have work related information in them my friend needs) do not appear, just recent emails.
Trying to use the “ask for help functions” the apps would try to open but then crash out not loading.
So looking at options and advice everywhere we got to the point where we decided to try Rolling back to before windows 10. The only thing is this doesn't seem to be an option in Rollback, and we did this on Friday 5th March and it's currently the 15th (did try posting this on 13th but the forum wouldn't let me) so hardly 30 days.
Any suggestions on how to deal with any of this?
Many thanks
