I have a desktop, using Windows 10 Pro. And a laptop using Windows 7 Professional.
Initially both were using Wi-fi, both the PCs were showing up under "Network" tab in "This PC". File sharing and remote desktop worked well both ways.
Now the Wi-fi adapter of Desktop failed, so I connected it with Ethernet. Now, my laptop (on wi-fi) can see and access Desktop (on ethernet) but my Desktop can't even detect the existence of my Laptop on the network.
I have tried all possible solutions, permission turned on. I need a specific solution if anybody else is facing the same problem.
