Printer No Longer Prints After Windows Latest Version Change

Hello. Running 32-bit Windows 10 version 20H2 on HP Pavilion dv9700t laptop. Brother MFC-8860DN USB Printer installed on USB port. Worked fine (all functions: print, copy, scan, fax) before latest Windows 10 version installation. Have had three separate one-hour plus phone sessions with Brother support; tech said at end of last session that Brother troubleshooting has been exhausted and that Microsoft should be contacted as it is a Windows issue. Supposedly correct printer drivers (version 3.25) installed. Device Manager says device is working properly. However, troubleshooter recognizes there is problem, but neither identifies it nor suggests solution. Have tried over half dozen USB cables and have plugged machine into other USB ports, all to no avail. Also added memory to printer just in case, but no change. All functions work except printing. Machine has LED that blinks when receiving data, and does so when attempting to print a test page, which it will not actually do. Oddly, test page did print at end of first Brother tech session but then would no longer do so after computer restart. Well beyond frustrated and at wit's end. Do not have funds to replace what originally was a very expensive printer. Please help. Thank you kindly. (Have tried to substitute HP LaserJet 1100 printer for Brother via USB connection, but Windows will not allow installation (which is subject of separate post), even though same LaserJet works fine on Dell laptop running Windows 10.)
