persistent network issues in Windows 10 on Lenovo Ideapad

I have a Lenovo Ideapad laptop that is about four years old, with Windows 10. Ever since I've gotten it I have had to occasionally reset the network adapter. This has gotten more frequent until about a few weeks ago, I now have to go through this process every time I want to go online: go to network center, run the troubleshooter, it will either tell me an "ethernet cable is unplugged" (not applicable), or I need to "install a phone line filter" (also not applicable), but after runnign the troubleshooter I will be able to connect to wifi. Now as of yesterday this no longer fixes the problem, it now makes the computer fully shut down and restart before I can connect to WiFi, and it says it is the Qualcomm network adapter. I've already done every possible update to the computer, including checking that every single driver is up to date, really not sure what to do.
