Hey Community,
My computer begged me to install the latest infamous Windows update (as it typically does) on my Dell XPS. After agreeing to restart the computer, I come to find out that every single document I have has been converted from a word document to a ".docx" document, and opens in WordPad instead of word. All of the college essays, notes I've taken, projects I'm working on, and everything else written in word is now permanently stuck in a format that I cannot submit to my college. This is not something I chose during the update or did beforehand (obviously). Windows just took it upon itself to make the conversions for me.
Additionally, my headphone audio is now different (and sounds terrible). The audio sounds way too bassy and it sounds like I'm listening through a seashell. Nothing is clear as it was before, and I have no idea how to fix it.
And to add insult to injury, my wallpaper is gone (that I haven't changed in three years) and so is the file that goes along with it.
Of course, the most crucial of issues is all my documents becoming .docx files. How on earth do I go about fixing that? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thank you!
