Hi
I have installed windows 7 home premium onto quite an old Packard Bell PC.
This OS was installed from the original genuine DVD supplied with a newer Dell PC. While the OS installed successfully I cannot get the program to accept the validation code from the sticker on the Dell PC. I have also used a number of third party key finders and all have produced an identical code but different from the "Dell" code. I have also run the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Tool which gives the same code as all of the third party key finders.
I also reinstalled the windows 7 OS on a separate partition on to my Dell PC from the same DVD and this installed OK and validated itself without me having to enter any code!
I want to install windows 7 onto a different PC as I have devices and programs that either do not work well with windows 10 or don’t work at all and I do not want to use up HDD space on the windows 10 disk.
Please can anybody offer any advice on how to resolve this validation problem?
