Hi guys
I have been hovering around 1GB worth of storage space left on my hard drive for quite some time that has stressed me out no end. I have done all sorts of clean up options, e.g. disc clean up, optimize the drive, temp folder, %temp% folder, prefetch, wsreset etc. etc. etc. All of this creates some room but not the amount needed. I have moved/removed any unnecessary apps taking up valuable storage space and moved all my work onto the d:\ drive. I've also seen in my settings that 'Other People' are taking up about 7GB of space. Since I don't have any other users on my machine I fail to see where all this is coming from and if anyone has a solution to this, I would be grateful (yes, I've gone in as administrator but there is nothing to remove).
On the plus side, today I have had a bit of a eureka moment. I download sometimes very large voice files to transcribe on a daily basis using a transcription software. I found that I hadn't completely deleted them from my system when finished, i.e. clicking 'Done' removed it from my to do list but not from the computer itself. I discovered it quite by accident in the following folder which I think is something others could check if they are in the same position:
c:\users\(my user name)\AppData\Roaming\(software company name)\(program name)\Done
I just managed to delete about 80GB and you have no idea how good that feels!
Cheers, Pauline
