Windows 7 returns blue screen when I try to boot it up

So I was browsing steam and all of a sudden it started to glitch. I couldn't click on any of the games. Then, a bluescreen appeared. I got error cod "0x0000006B." When I tried to start the computer back up, I got another blue screen. I forgot what it said, but it seemed bad. I tried to boot up one more time, and was prompted to use the startup repair utility. On opening the startup repair, I got a message box saying that "D:/Windows/system32 is corrupted and unreadable." I am currently using the startup repair utility to get the machine running again. My computer has had 3 blue screens in the last 2 weeks. Is there any way to fix this other than upgrading the computer to windows 10? I personally much prefer the look of windows 7 over that of windows 10. Thanks.
