Have a issue where N600 Netgear WIFI with USB plugged into a XP Pro using as a file server
For some odd issue the N600 ( tried 3 of them with same results) goes to like a sleep mode
Clients then that are mapped to this server can no longer see this server which maybe is moving files to/from clients 3-4 times a day
But if on this desktop, I go use a internet browser it then can get onto the internet and right after that the clients then can see the mapped drive and function again with rebooting anything
Seems to be on a random time basis that it does this
Being a desktop P/C there is really no power settings that effect USB ports ?
I cannot find anything in power setting that would have this effect and the desktop is set for best performance
so it is not set for going into like this sleep mode or do I see any power setting for USB ports.
What could cause this ?
Is there some other setting that has USB ports go to sleep ?
Or some XP Pro setting causing the Netgear N600 (dual WiFI ) to do this ?
Cannot get any help from Netgear as they say no support for XP any more
Anyway to debug or trap what is going on ?
Thanks --- JR
