I did a new install of WIN XP SP3 on a new SSD.
The chassis is a Dell Inspiron 3847 with an Intel Core i5-4440 processor.
The Properties Sheet shows 3.42 GB of RAM although there is more than that installed on the board.

There were no drivers installed for this list of devices.
Other devices:
?Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus
?Network Controller
?PCI Simple Communications Controller
?SM Bus Controller
?Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
?USB Device
?Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

I found this file - winxp_145111.exe - on the Intel site and downloaded.
When I ran it the install failed. The message said a Net_Framework update was needed.

I found and downloaded these three files said to be Net_Framework updates:
NDP40-KB2836939-v3-IA64.exe
NDP40-KB2836939-v3-x64.exe
NDP40-KB2836939-v3-x86.exe

My question in three parts:
1. Are these in fact the Net_framework updates I need?
2. If yes, do I need to install them all and is there a particular order of installation?
3. Is the Intel file the proper one and will it provide drivers for all the devices listed?

Any help and/or advice(other than upgrading Windows) will be appreciated.

Thank you.
