Tried to re-install XP after failing to install W7.
( I have it at home now)
PC Has a Maxtor 80 gb HD as Master. jumper set as 'Master' Has a Slave drive, Western digital 250gb,.
The slave was partitioned 'E' 112gb, and 'F' 120gb jumper set as slave.
'My Computer shows HD C: 112gb (not the Maxtor)
and second drive as 120gb.
I suspect he installed the XP on the partition 'E' of the slave, that then became C:
It keeps getting drive errors on black screen, it sometimes boots up ok but goes back to Black screen with 'STOP' C0000221 unknown hard error\system root\system 32\ nldll.dll.

I tried safe mode, no luck, system restore, it would not.

I downloaded Piriform Speccy, and it does not show the Maxtor drive , only the Western digital.
I need to re-install either XP or W7 on the correct drive C: (Maxtor) and sort out the slave, I suspect he has lost some files on the slave partition 'E'or perhaps they are now C: that should be 'E'.
I hope you are following me so far, I am confused (.com).
Also i need to extract a large amount of vinyl flooring photos for my business partner.
I am typing this on the faulty PC, and it is holding together so far . It's very very slow picking up the internet, or Control Panel.

Any ideas please?
