External Hard drive issues

I bought a new hard drive, it was showing as raw. It refused to format so I used diskparr to format it to ntfs. The next day, it went back to raw and saying cyclic redundancy check error, so I ran a chkdsk /f and I could access it again I tried to take full control and change the security settings. But now I can see the files but files like videos are not playing
