Fax to Folder

Microsoft Windows 7 now has this HomeGroup - which I think has really messed up stuff.


I have an HP printer/fax/scanner. When I get a fax in, it is supposed to print the fax and then send that fax to my computer as a PDF file.

It works. Then it does not work. I think it is after a Windows Update that it quits working.


But basically, I can print. I can send/receive faxes. I can scan to my computer.

It just will not send a fax as a PDF to a shared folder anymore.

And no matter what I do it will not see that shared folder.

I am 99.99% sure that it is NOT the printer. I am sure it is WINDOWS 7 problem.


I have had HP on the phone and they also remoted into my computer and for 2 hours they still can't get it to work either.

It all comes down to the printer cannot find the shared folder.


Any ideas on how to get the printer to see the folder on WINDOWS 7 ???


I have another computer on XP PRO and I can get from that computer to WIN 7 into a file, make changes, and save.

This printer is connected to the network on WiFi - which should not make any difference.


I think it has to be some problem with the shared folder that WIN 7 is messing with.
