I have been having this issue for almost a year I haven't been able to figure out a fix yet. I use windows media player to share my song playlist on my xbox 360 since my computer has most of my songs, but for some reason media streaming has stopped being accessible. I reset media player and now the streaming feature is completely locked.
When I go to the drop down list from library and click ''media streaming'' and check both boxes (share my media & find media that others are sharing) a administrator shield appears on the ''Ok'' button however nothing happens. It seems as if it's supposed to give a admin prompt but that never happens. I have tried multiple solutions
Since I couldn't figure it out I had to use an app on android as a substitute ever since but that however takes up memory on my tablet.
I have only seen 1 other forum post that included the mysterious admin prompt icon but no one could solve his issue.

- Fix Media Player's Registry (Didn't work)
- Go into services and make the streaming automatic and press start (Doesn't work)
- Remove the Media Player's folder and let the library reform (Still nothing)
- Forget about it? (I tried)
- Reinstalling Media Player (Not a single thing changed)
