Why do I get this 0x80071a91 after a clean installation?

Hi

My original system was Win 7 Pro and Microsoft upgraded this to Windows 10 Pro.

All seemed fine until recently and the the system became slow and unpredictable.

I tried many of the things found here to resolve the 0x80071a91 error on updates. None worked.

UTube said try to repair it with the the Microsoft Media File download. This didn't work. I took out/uninstalled Malwarebytes and Avast antivirus and tried again. It too failed.

UTube said if all else failed then re-install Windows 10. With great reluctance and lots of time I downloaded the Microsoft Media File to USB and tried to repair but this made things worse and eventually it stated that it could not boot !!!!!! The computer needed to be repaired !
I entered the bios and set it to use a USB stick instead of the download file and eventually got a clean Windows 10.

You would think this would be game over but instead I see that the updates are still saying error 0x80071a91 .
I also own Apple computers and iPads and this problem never happens with Apple upgrades to systems.
You would think Microsoft would correct the updates if this happens but I am at a loss as to how to resolve it.

I have not yet reinstalled Malwarebytes and Avast antivirus.

I will add that I also have the same model and build computer Dell Vostro was Win 7 and was upgraded without a problem with updates.

I have a gaming machine I use for music and that too was a Win7 upgraded to Windows 10 dual boot XP and that doesn't have update issues.

Any ideas as to how to make a new windows 10 installation take updates without the 0x80071a91 problem?
