"IDENTITY Serial" Driver?

Anyone familiar with the "IDENTITY Serial" driver? I'm trying to communicate with an industrial controls device using a USB to Mini B cable connected to a DELL laptop running Windows 7. When connecting, my laptop does not recognize the device. And I get a request for an "IDENTITY Serial" driver. Running the automatic driver programs brings up nothing. Any help in locating this particular driver would be appreciated.
