My laptop is shutting down automatically.
I don't think it's a high temperature issue because if I am actively using the machine, things seem okay. It's only when I leave it idle when the device shuts down.
Sorry, I don't have a specific time/window when that happens. But checking the event viewer shows shutdown initiated by two different processes randomly
1. Process - C:\Windows\System32\RunTimeBroker.exe
Behalf of user - DOTSLASHVISION\akshi
Reason - Other (unplanned)
Reason code - 0x0
Shutdown Type - power off
2. Process - C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe
Behalf of user - NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
Reason - No title for this reason could be found
Shutdown Type - shutdown
I guess both the processes are Windows processes.
Initially, it showed only the first process (RunTimeBroker.exe) and I assumed it was a problem with Windows updates. Reset a few things (erased update cache and the like) but the issue hasn't gone away. Now, I can see another service shutting the device down.
I have other Windows machines and this issue does not seem to affect them. They are updated to the latest version as well so I'm not sure if it is a Windows issue but am open to suggestions. Has anyone seen this problem before or can help me mitigate the issue?
