win xp por to win 10 pro

i was given a comp with win 10 pro on it ....not the hard drive died and cant get any info off it when it frist came it had win xp on it the friend who gave it to me has died i have the keycode on the sticker but it will not let me install win 10 pro other then rebuy windows what can i do is thear an upgrade path i can take?
